Lisvane Art Workshop

32nd Annual Exhibition 2016

Our 32nd Annual Exhibition was our most successful for a number of years. We had 142 visitors - about 40% up on last year. They came to see what I feel was an exhibition of very high standard - even higher than usual, particularly from such a small group as ours. Sales were the highest since 2008 - we sold 11 framed paintings (as against only 4 last year) and 8 members made sales.

The voting for the Ted Martin Memorial Trophy was extremely close. The winner, by a single vote was Noelle Walsh for her pastel of an album cover ‘The Art Of Copying’. Noelle’s win came with the last voting form pulled from the drum. She gained 11 votes. Her winning painting is here. Runner-up was Ian Philpot with his watercolour of ‘The Old Miners’ Chapel, Cwmorthin’, with 10 votes, and third was ‘We Sing When We Win Or Lose’, a mixed media painting by Dimitrios Venetsianos, with 9 votes. 133 votes were cast for 52 different paintings. A big thank you to all our visitors for coming to support us and for casting their votes.

A gallery of our paintings hanging in this exhibition is included - please follow the links below.
